Reviews for Lego Racers in Driving for PC-Personal Computer ( PC ) :
I installed this game several months ago and it is still on my computer. I have really bad computer hardware, all stock as of '98, and this game runs BEAUTIFULLY!
In a nutshell, this game is the epitome of fun. I grew up playing with legos, and this game brought back many fond memories. The only building that you do in this game is your driver and/or car. The rest of the game is pre-made adn all you have to do is go out and enjoy it.
The worst part of this game was that it is quite tough to beat (not impossible though), and you cannot play against someone on another computer. I'd love to play this game online against fellow competitors, but that will never happen. So, we'll just have to be content with beating the racers and bosses in the game.
Challenging! Hidden shortcuts, bombs, oil slicks, jumping over obstacles (anything from big air landings to leaping crocodiles).
Note: This game is best played with the lights off! Some areas get really dark, and you'll most likely get left behind in the racers dust in these areas if they are on.
The levels get progressively harder. In the latter half of the game, the first few circuits you drive though are reversed. This is a bit of a change at first, but you get to learn the courses and master the tricks that you can use to beat the other racers.
My favorite circuit is the first one. You begin in a beautiful coastal setting on a bright, clear day. The next round of the circuit finds you in a dark forest, late at night. Total contrast in levels. This level is particularly enjoying for the steep hill at the end of the lap where you can launch your racer off into the air for a short time (get those green+white power ups and launch farther and farther!).
Simple, yet outstanding. Pirate ships that shoot cannonballs, coastal settings, alien environments and even racing on the moon. This game has it all.
Give it a try.
Sound is superb. Everything combines to fit an enjoyable experience to play by yourself or with your child.
