Reviews for Army Men: World War in Action for PC-Personal Computer ( PC ) :
World War...an Army Men game? Hmm. Could be. It's Tan vs. Green, alright. But where's Sarge? Not here. Plastro? Nowhere to been seen! The plastic feel? Gone. This looks more like a war-game. But a good one.
The fifth hit in the Army Men series. Not like others, though. No Sarge. You fight 12 missions. ALl are so easy. Even in Hard mode. That's a shame. My real problem is though AA guns ARE in other maps, there are NONE to be found in the Capital, where you destroy the Tan Gov't building.
The game plays well, and the multiplayer maps are pretty good, even though you don't get enough space to buy suffiecent armory in some.
Armory: 5 vehicles; a jeep, tank, halftrack, truck, and PT boat.
Powerups incluse airstrikes, napalm, flamethrowers, mortars, snipers, grenades, rifle power-uups, and `zookas.
It's not a good Army Men game, but a good fighting game
In each mission, you control a "bunch of men". No platoon,no squad. You can divide them into squads, but it's all a bunch of men. Each can carry a rifle/rifle power-up, 30 grenades max, and a special weapon. The controls are screwy, but you can change them to the numpad to make more sense. Nothing really special, though....
Graphics are good, pretty much. The texture of the ground is great, and there are no notiable bugs.
Sound.....whenever you click on a unit, he will say 1 of 2 things, showing he's ready for battle. You can hear the tank's rumbling, the jeeps, and halftracks. You can here lovely background sounds- e.g birds if you get away from the action and listen. Dynamo music plays in some. The artillery crashing gives you chills.
